this is an excellent server operating system, but one of the worst desktop operating systems ever created. freebsd needs to stop trying to be everything for everyone and focus solely on being a server operating system since that is the only thing it is good at. mac os x is the only decent desktop unix os and even that is not a very good one compared to windows 7 and vista.

nice free program that does the job for my needs. i like the fact that you can be completely explicit about which folders it should index. most of these types of programs seem to force you to index the start menu, which i don't want. i can search the start menu with vista by pressing one key. but with this you can make a folder of your custom shortcuts and have it search that folder only, which is exactly what i want.the "approximate search" mode also does a very good job of finding stuff even if you make a typo or type just a few random letters. plus it has a little list of a few lines showing the bes tmatches, so if you really screw up you can just hit down then enter to go to the second match or whatever. also you can completely turn off automatic indexing so it will only index on startup or when you right click and tell it to do has a bunch of stuff for website shortcuts and all that too which honestly i have no use for so i don't know how well all that works. but it is there.overall, pretty basic-looking (who cares if your launcher has a drop shadow really) but does everything i want and does it well. switched over to this from launchy a couple of years ago and haven't missed it, no real complaints.

s this version meant to be installed in place of adobe flash player square for internet explorer 64 but or not? which version is more advanced?fyi square was verbatim, "he key new capabilities in the flash player "square" preview are:64-bit support ␔ native support for 64-bit operating systems and 64-bit web browsers on linux, mac os, and windows.internet explorer 9 hardware accelerated rendering support ␔ enhanced support for internet explorer 9 beta. it takes advantage of hardware accelerated graphics in internet explorer 9 beta, utilizing hardware rendering surfaces to improve graphics performance and enable seamless composition."using preview 3 of adobe flash palyer square on windows 7 x64 for internet explorer and assume google chrome x32 doesn't need either, right?

actually, regardless of your setup or how much ram you have, at the very least this will reduce disk usage. i'd rather burn a flash up over time than my mechanical disks. i have read that you can use 2 flash drives together in a type of raid array. i wish i had bought another. obviously, if all your disks are ssd's you would never need this unless you have very little memory.
