hah! i'm sure it wasn't a cracked version - i'm reasonably confident i got it either from the link here or from softpedia. however, i just installed it again a little while ago and it looks like it's working fine now. i was actually surprised the first time round because registry workshop was such a cool program. haven't tested this all the way yet, i'll throw in three stars for now and possibly upgrade once i've given it a run through.

@radiomaffia"you keep rating it 5, i keep rating it 1 star, fact is that utorrent done something that didnt make it easier in torrentland, all the private trackers that i am using banned version 2.xx and utorrent 2 is useless to me untill all private trackers allow it and that isnt the case, we will see where it ends prespero.or utorrent delivers a clean version without utp or it slowly but certainly lose populairity and the days of vuze will rise again, i was looking to use halite but this client is also banned by a private tracker that i like to use..."but here's the thing: most private trackers have a list of approved and unapproved clients. a lot of them don't allow any version of, say, vuze. they only allow the old 2.5.x.x versions of azureus. does this mean that you would also give vuze or halite any of the other clients that some private trackers don't allow the lowest rating possible? somehow i doubt that. i can certainly understand a preference for other clients, i just don't understand why you seem to be on some sort of anti-utorrent crusade.but really, i understand where some critics are coming from and i can see how implementing new versions of utorrent when new builds are released so frequently could make more work than some tracker admins are willing to put in. i have no problem with a tracker not allowing the new versions that are constantly coming out as long as they aren't basically lying about their reasons for doing so. and as long as you'll stop saying that "all private trackers ban utorrent", which you must know by now is untrue, we can have a rational conversation about this.i just don't understand why you're willing to spread obviously false information in these forums. did the utorrent devs kick your puppy? ;)

moodlogic was able to profile about half of my 6000 tracks, and seems very cool. the program also has an option to profile them myself, which takes about a minute per song. building playlists was allways something i hated, and i never took the time to fix my id3 tags, so this is perfect for me. i cant wait until their coverage expands!

there is a fairly large difference between players based on sound quality alone: i use an good separate outboard dac with a decent amplifier & speakers with reasonable quality interconnects & aimp beats winamp into the weeds no contest.i use .flac encoded music some of the time now & aimp plays that great ~ if you are using a built in sound chip & or cheap sound card & or plastic speakers you probably wont notice the difference but also wont know what's on the audio you play either ~aimp does not have any associated junk-ware supplied with it as does winamp so you don't need to go to the effort of slimming it down. the are other audio players that are better than winamp on sound quality perhaps most of them actually ~you can do far, far better than this ~in linux audacious does a pretty good job ~(true media program neophytes ~ someone who is willing to pay a small amount to at least have some idea what the original recording sounded like, not really an obsession is it?)edit: @ roj - i'll give deadbeef a try tomorrow in linux, thanks for the tip :-)edit 2 @ roj - major increase in detail etc. with deadbeef, i was always a little dissatisfied with music on linux, that's now sorted - thanks :-)

thunderbird+lighting is nice but it doesn't do everything essentialpim does. for one, mozilla doesn't offer a year-at-a-glance calendar... in fact, i don't think anyone else but essential does that and i've some to like it so much that it's become by default view for planning. life doesn't happen in one-month buckets.
