hate microsoft if you will, but until someone/anyone beats ms office, it will continue to rule. much like its windows 2003 counterpart, this is a very stable version. the new notebook view in word, the word processor, is a delightful rip-off of onenote for windows, a note-taking and organizing program. in situations where fast note-taking is essential ␔ lectures and interviews come to mind ␔ this view presents a tabbed on-screen notebook and keystrokes that make it easy to type an outline. best of all, if you click a record button, your microphone records the proceedings. later you can play back a certain audio segment just by clicking the corresponding spot in your notes.the other killer new feature is in powerpoint, the slide-show software that's loved or loathed by corporate presenters the world over. it's a new view called presenter tools, designed especially for laptops hooked up to projectors. in this mode, the audience sees only your projected slides. but on your laptop, you see a very different, private display. beneath a half-size version of each slide, you see your own notes; for the first time in powerpoint, you can cheat from a script without letting the audience catch wise. second, you see a timer, which keeps you from sabotaging your own pitch by running overtime. third, you see miniatures of the previous slide, your current slide and what's coming up next. no longer do you risk being just as surprised by the next slide as the audience. from the first time you use them, these tools translate into better pacing, better delivery and greater confidence. if you've used a mac for any time, then once a program does everything anybody could ever ask of it, adding more features like these is just icing on the icing. well worth the upgrade folks.

this client continues to be my favoured mail client on windows. i only wish there was as good a client on linux. light as a feather - after running for hours it's using just over 15mb of ram. thunderbird is up to 91mb after less than five minutes. yesterday i wanted to set up an automatic reply filter. a two-minute job with becky. thunderbird? forget it. i'm sure there's a way if you just install the right plugin. if you can find it. and if you trust third-party developers embedded in your mail software. no doubt the tb fanboys will protest; like the comodo and ubuntu fanboys they get very uptight when you criticise their toys.never mind. carry on using tb. i hear you can even download colourful themes for it!leave becky to those who understand its elegance and hidden treasures.worth every last euro i spent on it, and i'd do it again in a heartbeat.

is not compatible with many printers. size is hardly correct, most of the time, the cover takes up a whole a4! only good thing is it looks nice.i prefer nero cover designer, it's free and lots more functionality.

hi, i enjoyed safari on xp, but with new fullversion appeared a problem i can't solve: closing the programm, all the history clears, allthough in preferences one week or other position is and private browsing is not activated.what's the matter?vladimir

alright, i own the latest copy of streaming audio manager (sam) broadcaster. it has done wonders and all my dj's love it, we use it for our sirius sattelite uplink and a couple playlist machines. but the quality of the audio couldnt be better, we used to have a playlistomatic 4500 and it was a piece of crap majorly. but if there's anyone out there wanting to get into radio this is the perfect tool for you to use, simple enough to understand and wont give you as much s*** as any other of the broadcasters. i would highly recommend it!!

i agree, directory lister is seriously good because of its accuracy and options. there are several excellent file list generating apps in this class of software. directory lister is very handy for taking snapshots of what's on your system or in folders/projects at any given time. if you're clever, you can find a dozen other helpful ways to use it. well worth a donation to the author!

media player classic and mpc home theater are the absolute best media player in the world by the moment. an old pc and this player is all you need for your living room media center!but.. why would you want to make something that is compatible wit windows 2000? how many people in the world runs that 10 year old os?why not call it media player clasic for windows 7/8 and xp?

hmmm, seems a lot of people equate their lack of forum etiquette with the quality of a program.i've been involved with this app for years and am active in the forums there. i've not seen people censored or ignored except in cases where they are quite stupid/obnoxious/childish.i also see many give their "garbage" or "other apps are much better" with nothing more to back it up.likely the same lucid style used to post in the support forums and wonder why nobody jumps to help them.
